Sketching in Hardware 1 has ended. A huge thanks to everyone who attended and to our sponsors. Extra special thanks to The Henry Ford for hosting. You can see documentation of the event on Flickr.

Rapid prototyping of information processing devices offers a new way of creating technology for industrial design, experience design and technological creative expression. Sketching in Hardware 1 will bring together a select group of people intimately involved in this field to discuss the ideas, methods, challenges and potential of these technologies.

The format was an intimate, hands-on discussion, with presentations by all attendees, opportunities to try out new technologies, and private tours of the collection by museum curators.

Sketching in Hardware 1 is a playground and a think tank for people working in physical computing in various environments. Leading inventors, academics and artists will come together for a weekend summit to explore, innovate and develop new practices and methodologies for utilizing toolkits to create new technologies.
